10:14 AM EDT, 07/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ormat Technologies ( ORA ) said Tuesday it has signed a 15-year Resource Adequacy purchase and sale agreement with the City of Riverside in California for the company's 80-megawatt Shirk Battery Energy Storage System in Visalia, California.

Financial terms were not provided.

The company said the agreement specifies a commercial operation date of March 1, 2026. Ormat ( ORA ) expects the system to be operational by the end of next year, it added.
