10:56 AM EST, 01/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Pacira Biosciences ( PCRX ) said Tuesday it has received clearance from the US Food & Drug Administration to market a new Smart Tip designed to access the medial branch nerves to manage chronic low back pain.

The iovera system relieves pain via cryoneurolysis -- a process whereby focused cold therapy is applied to a targeted nerve, temporarily interrupting its ability to transmit pain signals, the company said.

The stock is up about 1.8% in recent trading.
