Paramount Says Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise Surpasses $1 Billion at Global Box Office

07:09 AM EST, 01/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Paramount Global's ( PARAA ) Paramount Pictures unit said Sunday that its Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise based on the Sega video game has exceeded $1 billion in total worldwide box office earnings, with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 grossing over $312 million to-date.

The company said the first two films, released in February 2020 and April 2022, grossed $725.2 million and generated $181 million in home entertainment revenue.

A fourth installment in the Sonic film series is being developed, the company added.
