04:38 PM EDT, 04/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Parsons (PSN) said late Wednesday it was awarded a position on a task order contract by the National Nuclear Security Administration's Office of Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence.

The $1 billion ceiling value contract to deploy advanced counter-nuclear smuggling systems includes a three-year base period of performance and two, two-year option periods and is a new work for the company, Parsons said.

The firm said it has been awarded two task orders under this contract.
