04:14 PM EDT, 07/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Parsons (PSN) has received a $15.4 million contract to develop initial designs to modernize the alternate nitrate ester manufacturing facility at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, BAE Systems said Tuesday.

BAE, the London Stock Exchange-listed defense contractor operates the production plant in Virginia that makes the propellants used in ordinance and other munitions for the US military.

Parsons is providing design and engineering services as well as permitting and delivery of a new waste incinerator and processor, as a safe alternative to open burning, BAE Systems said.
