Peabody Energy Shares Jump After Q3 Earnings, Revenue Top Expectations

10:27 AM EDT, 10/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Peabody Energy ( BTU ) shares were up more than 9% in recent Thursday trading after the company reported quarterly results that exceeded analyst forecasts.

The company posted Q3 earnings of $0.74 per diluted share, compared with $0.82 a year earlier. Four analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.59.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $1.09 billion, up from $1.08 billion a year earlier. Three analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $1.07 billion.

Peabody Energy ( BTU ) said it raised its full-year capital expenditures guidance by $50 million to $425 million.

The company also maintained a quarterly dividend at $0.075 per share, payable on Dec. 4 to stockholders of record on Nov. 14.
