Company Supports Community Icon to Pass on the Torch – Care, Connection, and Commitment Continue for Families

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Miami-based Pediatrica Health Group, a multi-site, pediatric primary care organization dedicated to providing equitable access to innovative care for kids, today announced the acquisition of an additional location in Miami Lakes. This latest acquisition strengthens Pediatrica's commitment to provide accessible, quality care across the state and beyond, and supports the Miami Lakes community as the practice's founder, Dr. Ruth Schobel, prepares to retire after more than 41 years supporting local families.

Dr. Ruth Schobel - an exemplary pediatrician and a leader in the community…

After decades of practicing from the same location in Miami Lakes, Dr. Schobel has had the honor of supporting multiple generations of families over the years. She has built lifelong, trusted relationships with families through her thoughtful, compassionate approach to evidence-based care. Additionally, she is notorious in the community for giving her time and passion, including supporting schools with wellness and safety talks, volunteering on the Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board, and she continues to be an active member of the Zonta Club of Miami Lakes, an organization dedicated to improving the circumstances of women at all stages of life. Dr. Schobel's commitment to improving outcomes and well-being for all simply cannot be ignored. So much so, that this past year, the town of Miami Lakes named one of the roadways Dr. Ruth Schobel Way to honor her invaluable contributions.

"Leaning into community investment…medical education and resources, and creating opportunities for youth and family-focused organizations to help kids thrive. It's what families deserve..."

Dr. Merryl Dweck, who has worked alongside Dr. Schobel for many years, continues to care for families at the practice with the warmth, experience, and fervor the office is known for, and a new addition to the team, Dr. Rosemary Prince, has been welcomed with open arms by Miami Lakes parents and kids. This expansion to the team ensures the office can continue to operate at full capacity and welcome even more families. "No one can replace Dr. Schobel. She has invested a lifetime to build a trusted, genuine brand, the kind that is only built from experience, integrity, and kindness. What we can do is carry on the tradition of delivering intentional evidence-based care and contributing to the community as she has through her many years of tenacious leadership and advocacy," commented Pediatrica Health Group CEO, Roberto Palenzuela. "Next Generation CareSM means supporting the communities we serve. Not only opening our doors to all families, including those on Medicaid, but leaning into community investment, supporting with medical education and resources, as well as creating opportunities for youth and family-focused organizations to help kids thrive. It's what families deserve - Dr. Schobel has proven the value of that investment to the community in spades."
