01:01 PM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Perma-Fix Environmental Services ( PESI ) said Tuesday that it has acquired the Environmental Waste Operations Center near Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

The company said the purchase solidifies its plans to invest in facility upgrades to capitalize on regional opportunities, including decontamination projects, waste processing and trans-loading from truck to rail.

The facility spans more than 29,000 square feet of licensed storage and processing area for radioactive materials on an eight-acre site, the company said. It has leased the facility for several years.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company's shares were down about 2.7% in recent trading.
