SAO PAULO, April 4 (Reuters) - The chief executive of
Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras has asked
for a meeting with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as he
seeks support to stay in the role, newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo
reported late on Wednesday.
CEO Jean Paul Prates has faced criticism from some members
of Lula's cabinet, notably Mines and Energy Minister Alexandre
Silveira, and wants a "definitive meeting" with Lula about the
situation, the newspaper reported.
Leaving Petrobras is among the outcomes mulled by Prates if
he fails to get a strong show of support from Lula, according to
the report, which did not explain how it obtained the
information.
Petrobras and Lula's press office did not immediately
respond to requests for comment.
