PG&E Cuts Power to 2,000 Customers in California to Prevent Potential Wildfires
Jul 2, 2024 10:25 AM

01:05 PM EDT, 07/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- PG&E ( PCG ) said Tuesday it shut off power for about 2,000 customers in California as part of a planned public safety power shutoff event to prevent potential wildfires.

The company added that it had delayed shutting off the power for roughly 10,000 additional customers due to favorable weather conditions.

PG&E ( PCG ) said Sunday that it planned to turn the power off for thousands of customers due to concerns that a forecasted heatwave and breezy offshore winds could raise the risk of wildfires on energized power lines.
