PG&E May Cut Power to 20,000 California Customers to Prevent Wildfires

08:18 AM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- PG&E ( PCG ) said Thursday that strong winds combined with dry vegetation conditions may cause it to cut off power to around 20,000 customers in two dozen California counties to prevent possible wildfires.

The winds are forecasted to begin Thursday afternoon local time and extend until Saturday afternoon in some areas, the company said.
