Philip Morris sells its stake in Swedish Match do Brasil

SAO PAULO, March 19 (Reuters) - An affiliate of Philip

Morris International ( PM ) has sold its stake in Swedish Match

do Brasil to Ignis FIP, the tobacco company said in a statement

on Thursday.

Financial details of the deal, which also includes Swedish

Match da Amazonia, were not disclosed.

CONTEXT

* Swedish Match do Brasil controls the Brazilian Fiat

Lux brand.

* Ignis FIP is a Brazilian private investment vehicle

sponsored by Marcos Fernando Garms, who leads a group with

operations in the sugar and ethanol, agribusiness and automotive

distribution sectors, according to the statement.

* Swedish Match do Brasil and Swedish Match da Amazonia

will remain part of Philip Morris ( PM ) and continue to operate

normally until the transaction is completed, it added.
