07:33 AM EDT, 04/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Piedmont Lithium ( PLL ) said Monday it has received approval to construct, operate and reclaim the proposed Carolina lithium project from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources in Gaston County, North Carolina.

The company received the mining permit after a review of its application, submitted on Aug. 30, 2021.

Shares of Piedmont Lithium ( PLL ) rose more than 23% in recent premarket activity on Monday.
