08:09 AM EDT, 10/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Plug Power ( PLUG ) said Tuesday it completed the first phase delivery of 44.5 metric tons of hydrogen to H2Cast, a joint project in Germany led by energy infrastructure company Gasunie and cavern storage company Storag Etzel.
From April to August, Plug was able to meet delivery timelines for the project, which aims to repurpose two existing salt caverns into underground storage for renewable hydrogen, the company said.
After the successful pilot, Plug said it was awarded a second delivery contract for an additional 35 metric tons for the same project.
The company said it plans to continue to source the hydrogen from the electrolyzer facility Hy2Gen Atlantis in Werlte, Germany, where it holds 100% exclusivity on the produced green hydrogen.
