Plug Power's Shares Fall After Reporting Larger-Than-Expected Q2 Net Loss, Lower Revenue

10:15 AM EDT, 08/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Plug Power ( PLUG ) shares were 2.8% lower in recent Thursday trading after it posted larger-than-expected Q2 net loss and lower net revenue from a year earlier that also missed analysts' estimates.

The hydrogen solutions firm reported a Q2 net loss of $0.36 per share, narrowing from a loss of $0.40 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.31 per share.

Net revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $143.4 million, down from $260.2 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $186.2 million.

For 2024, the company said it expects revenue in the range of $825 million to $925 million. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $910.7 million.
