11:56 AM EDT, 07/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- PNC Financial Services Group ( PNC ) is thinking about charging financial technology companies for access to consumer data, Chief Executive Bill Demchak said Wednesday, according to a FactSet transcript.

"We're in discussions on it," Demchak said on the company's earnings call.

The CEO said "a big cost" is needed to keep the data secure and to produce it in a form that clients can read.
