Aug 29, 2025 5:24 AM

08:09 AM EDT, 08/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Poet Technologies (PTK.V) on Friday said it has partnered with Japan's NTT Innovative Devices to develop advanced optical engines for networks that can support AI applications on mobile devices.

Poet is developing a 100G Bidirectional Optical Engine for next-generation mobile front-haul networks, to provide four times more bandwidth efficiency than current devices. The front-haul segment of networking is pivotal for AI-driven applications that demand high bandwidth and low latency, a statement said.

Development work will begin this year and prototypes are expected to be ready in 2026. High-volume production is anticipated for 2027, the company said.
