POET Technologies Completes Super Photonics Xiamen Acquisition

07:54 AM EST, 12/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- POET Technologies ( POET ) on Tuesday said it completed its acquisition of Super Photonics Integrated Circuit Xiamen Co. (SPX).

Super Photonics is jointly held by, and previously operated as a joint venture between Poet and Quanzhou San'an Optical Communication Technology.

Poet which now has 100% ownership of SPX, will also change its name and may eventually merge operations with Poet Optoelectronics Shenzhen Co.

The SPX operation complements Poet's agreements with Globetronics Manufacturing, to manufacture optical engines in Malaysia. The combined production capacity of the two assembly and test operations will exceed one million optical engines per year, all dedicated to the 800G and higher speed transceivers required for AI clusters, Poet said.
