09:16 AM EDT, 08/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Poland's defense ministry on Monday signed offset agreements with Boeing ( BA ) and GE Aerospace (GE) related to the purchase of AH-64E Apache helicopters, according to a statement on the government of Poland's website.
Boeing's ( BA ) contract, worth more than 400 million Polish zlotys ($101.8 million), includes developing capabilities for inspecting, repairing, and renovating AH-64E helicopter components, training maintenance staff, and assessing ground aircraft maintenance equipment for compatibility with AH-64E helicopters, according to the statement.
GE's agreement, valued at more than 530 million zlotys, focuses on the technical maintenance of turboshaft engines used in various helicopters used by the Polish Armed Forces.
The US approved the potential sale of 96 AH-64E Apache Attack helicopters and related equipment to Poland for $12 billion in August 2023.
Boeing ( BA ) shares were down 4.9% in recent Monday premarket activity while GE fell 5.3% in a generally lower market.
