08:59 AM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Polestar Automotive (PSNY) said Wednesday it has begun production of its Polestar 3 luxury SUV in South Carolina.

The factory will make cars for customers in the US and Europe, adding to its existing production in Chengdu, China.

Polestar also said it is working to increase its manufacturing footprint and will begin producing Polestar 4s in South Korea beginning in the middle of 2025.

Shares of Polestar Automotive were up 4.4% in recent premarket activity.
