11:09 AM EST, 02/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Prairie Provident Resources ( PRPRF ) , which last week said it raised $4.8 million in the first tranche of a private placement to advance a basal quartz horizontal drilling program, on Thursday said it spudded a basal quartz well in the Michichi area of Central Alberta.

Drilling operations are expected to take eight days, after which the well will be fracture-stimulated and brought on-stream, Prairie Provident said.

This is the company's third Basal Quartz well following the drilling and completion of two other wells in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company's shares were last seen up $0.01 to $0.05 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
