- After a year of prolonged negotiations marked by several

dramatic twists and turns, the Canadian retailer Alimentation

Couche-Tard ( ANCTF ) said it was abandoning its multi-billion

dollar bid to acquire the owner of 7-Eleven convenience

stores.

- Indonesia's president, Prabowo Subianto, confirmed on

Wednesday the broad outlines of a trade agreement with the

United States under which U.S. exports to Indonesia would face

no tariffs, while Indonesian goods would be charged a tariff of

19% in the United States.

- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had

spoken to the Coca-Cola Company ( KO ) about using "REAL cane

sugar in Coke" in the United States and that the company had

agreed to begin adding it.

- President Trump showed off a draft of a letter firing

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell during a meeting with

roughly a dozen House Republicans on Tuesday night, polling them

as to whether he should do it and indicating that he likely

would.
