billion takeover bid for Anglo American after failing to
convince its rival to further engage in talks on what would have
been the largest-ever mining deal.
- ConocoPhillips ( COP ) has agreed to acquire Marathon Oil ( MRO )
in an all-stock deal valued at $17.1 billion in a bid to
catch up with rivals as drillers race to secure new oil and gas
wells.
- Google has committed $2 billion in investments in
Malaysia, including building its first data center, a new Google
Cloud region and further developing artificial intelligence.
- Meta Platforms ( META ) said its security team took down a
network of hundreds of fake accounts on Facebook and Instagram
