- Nvidia ( NVDA ) said on Thursday it would invest $5

billion in Intel ( INTC ), throwing its heft behind the

struggling U.S. chipmaker just weeks after the White House

engineered an extraordinary deal for the federal government to

take a massive stake in the company.

- UPS terminated its plans to buy Estafeta,

abandoning a more than year-long effort to acquire the Mexican

small package provider.

- Private-equity firm Ames Watson on Thursday closed a deal

to buy jewelry retailer Claire's out of bankruptcy for $140

million.

- Cracker Barrel targeted with proxy fight by Steak

'n Shake investor Sardar Biglari, founder of Biglari Holdings

Inc. ( BH )

- FedEx ( FDX ) plans to rely more on shipping within the

U.S. and from markets such as Europe, as tariffs slow down trade

to the U.S. from China.

- American Express ( AXP ) is raising the annual fee on its

Platinum credit card to $895 from $695 effective Thursday.
