- Danish biotechnology company Genmab ( GMAB ) agreed to
buy Nasdaq-listed cancer-treatment developer Merus for
around $8 billion in cash.
- U.S. President Trump and congressional leaders are headed
into last-minute talks just as Republicans and Democrats are
bracing for a government shutdown by midweek that could also
involve a fresh round of firings of federal workers.
- President Trump plans to join gathering of top U.S.
military commanders that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will
convene Tuesday, where Hegseth is expected to address the senior
officers and enlisted leaders.
- Deutsche Lufthansa said it would cut about 4,000
administrative jobs by 2030, mostly in Germany, due to the
roll-out of artificial intelligence and automation of tasks
- Russia launched more than 600 drones and dozens of
missiles at Ukraine on Saturday night and Sunday morning, one of
the largest aerial attacks of the war, while the United Nations
General Assembly remains in session.
