THE GLOBE AND MAIL
- Stockholm-based private equity firm Altor outbid several
rival private equity funds and sports companies to acquire CCM
from Birch Hill Equity Partners for $600 million including debt.
- Toronto-based FinTech company Koho Financial Inc. is
raising $40 million in equity and $150 million in debt to expand
the amount it lends to consumers for buy-now-pay-later financing
at e-commerce checkouts and to help boost its loan book.
- Travis Machen, who joined Bank of Nova Scotia ( BNS )
from Morgan Stanley in May as CEO, in an internal memo on
Tuesday, informed of multiple staffing changes that will result
in a dozen senior managers including Nicole Frew and Mark
Mulroney, reporting directly to him.
NATIONAL POST
- Separatist party Bloc Quebecois said it is prepared to
call for an election earlier if Liberals vote against increasing
old age pension payments for all seniors and has given the
government until Oct 29 to support the party's bill.
