SANTIAGO, Jan 23 (Reuters) - A protest by striking
contract workers has disrupted access roads to Chile's Escondida
and Zaldivar copper mines, union sources told Reuters on Friday.
The workers, who are employed by contractor Finning and have
been on strike since the beginning of the month, have launched
intermittent blocks in the La Negra industrial sector and the
road leading to the BHP and Antofagasta ( ANFGF ) Minerals deposits.
