07:21 AM EDT, 07/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Pulse Seismic ( PLSDF ) , which rose 2.1% yesterday, overnight Tuesday announced a special dividend of $0.05 per share, even though second quarter profit fell.
The company, which licenses seismic data to the western Canada energy sector, said second quarter net earnings fell to $1.3 million, or $0.03 per share, from $3.4 million, or $0.06 per share, last year.
Total revenue was also lower, at $6.3 million, from $8.8 million in the prior year period.
The company also declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.015 per share.
"Pulse had a solid first half of 2024, generating revenue more than sufficient to cover a full year of cash operating costs, as well as the annual regular dividend of $0.06 per common share," said Neal Coleman, Pulse's president and CEO.
