04:45 AM EDT, 04/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- PureTech Health ( PRTC ) said Tuesday it has named Bharatt Chowrira chief executive officer, effective immediately.

He succeeds Daphne Zohar, who has been named chief executive of PureTech's neuropsychiatric medicine startup, Seaport Therapeutics.

Additionally, Eric Elenko has been named president of PureTech, and Steven M. Paul, former chief executive at Karuna Therapeutics, has been named chairman at Seaport.

The company also said Seaport has raised $100 million in an oversubscribed round of series A financing from investors that included ARCH Venture Partners, Sofinnova Investments and Third Rock Ventures.
