07:59 AM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- PyroGenesis Canada ( PYRGF ) subsidiary Pyro Green-Gas signed contracts totaling $1.3 million with a steel company in India to develop and supply technology to desulphurize the gas released during the creation of metallurgical coke from coal.
Pyro Green-Gas will provide engineering and mechanical solutions to help remove hydrogen sulfide from coke oven gas during the coking process. The cleaned gas will then be converted into high value reusable hydrogen. Coke is a key fuel used within a blast furnace during primary steelmaking.
The client, which exceeded US$20 billion in revenue last year, is one of the largest steelmakers in India and is the second billion-dollar client that Pyro Green-Gas is doing business with in India, according to a statement added.
