08:12 AM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- PyroGenesis Canada Inc. ( PYRGF ) , a provider of advanced plasma processes to reduce greenhouse gases, said Thursday that it signed a $450,000 contract with a US structural materials entity engaged in developing advanced cement materials.

Under the terms, PyroGenesis will design and build a system tailored for lab-scale cement production applications.

The contract is partially funded by the US Energy Department. The company said the name of the client will remain anonymous for confidentiality reasons.

"We believe our greenhouse gas-free technologies are a perfect solution to help the cement industry decarbonize by replacing fossil-fuel burners with PyroGenesis' electric plasma torches in various process steps, effectively moving towards green cement," President and CEO P. Peter Pascali said.

The company rose 2.2% yesterday.
