Qatar Airways CEO Urges Boeing, Airbus to Cut Aircraft Delivery Delays
May 15, 2024 4:05 AM

06:49 AM EDT, 05/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer expressed the need for Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus to put more pressure on their suppliers to reduce the ongoing delivery delays of new aircraft, Reuters reported, citing Al Meer's speech at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha.

Al Meer said Qatar Airways is currently unable to meet the travel demand due to the shortage of new aircraft and that the air carrier is doing its best to assist both planemakers and "try to find solutions for them to make sure they deliver."

"I know they're under so much pressure when it comes to the supply chain market .. But they need to put more pressure on those suppliers to make sure that airlines stop the bleeding," Al Meer was quoted as saying.
