07:24 AM EDT, 10/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) admitted that it had not informed Chinese authorities when it closed its acquisition of Autotalks earlier this year, China's State Administration for Market Regulation said Sunday.

On Friday, the regulator said the US chip supplier will face an antitrust probe over its purchase of Autotalks, an Israel-based fabless semiconductor company that specializes in vehicle-to-everything communications.

The SAMR said Sunday it informed Qualcomm ( QCOM ) in March 2024 that the deal required the regulator's approval. Qualcomm ( QCOM ) in the same month notified the SAMR it wouldn't pursue the transaction further.

However, Qualcomm ( QCOM ) in June this year closed the deal without informing the SAMR, the regulator said Sunday.

The company didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Qualcomm ( QCOM ) shares were up 2.6% in recent premarket activity.
