08:33 AM EDT, 10/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) President and Chief Executive Cristiano Amon met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the country's "advancements in artificial intelligence, innovation and skilling," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement on Saturday.

During the meeting, Modi "expressed appreciation for Qualcomm's ( QCOM ) commitment toward India's semiconductor and AI missions," the statement said.

"We are encouraged by the opportunities to develop an Indian ecosystem across AI smartphones, PCs, smart glasses, auto, industrial and more," Amon said Friday in a post on X.

Qualcomm ( QCOM ) shares were up more than 2% in recent Monday premarket activity.

Qualcomm ( QCOM ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
