Qualcomm to Acquire Open-Source Technology Firm Arduino

09:51 AM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) said Tuesday it entered into an agreement to acquire open-source technology company Arduino.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Arduino will "retain its independent brand, tools, and mission," while its active users will gain access to Qualcomm's ( QCOM ) technology stack, Qualcomm ( QCOM ) said.

Qualcomm ( QCOM ) has also introduced Arduino UNO Q, Arduino's dual-brain board powered by the Dragonwing platform, which is designed to enable AI-powered vision and sound systems that react to their environment, the company said.

Shares of Qualcomm ( QCOM ) were up more than 1% in recent trading Tuesday.
