07:24 AM EST, 12/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Quanterix ( QTRX ) said Tuesday it plans to acquire Emission, which manufactures dye-encapsulating magnetic beads designed for low and mid-plex assays, for $10 million in cash.

The company said Emission will be entitled to an additional $10 million payment based on achieving certain technical milestones and up to $50 million more in earnout payments based on performance milestones.

Quanterix ( QTRX ) said the acquisition will allow it to use Emission's beads in its Simoa biomarker detection platform and develop a new multi-plex segment. The company expects to close the transaction in January and estimates the acquisition to be accretive to revenue and gross margins in 2026.
