08:12 AM EDT, 10/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Quarterhill ( QTRHF ) , a global provider of intelligent transportation system solutions, together with the Arkansas Department of Transportation and the Arkansas Highway Police, launched a US$2.7 million project to modernize freight operations on two of the state's "most critical" freight corridors.
The company said the initiative will deploy advanced mainline sorter systems at Lehi on I-40 Eastbound and at Marion on I-55 Southbound. ARDOT, the Arkansas Highway Police, and Quarterhill ( QTRHF ) are introducing an integrated suite of AI-driven and sensor-based technologies that will "streamline inspection, improve safety, and keep commerce moving efficiently without the need for costly roadway expansion."
The mainline sorter systems will feature weigh-in-motion sensors, tire anomaly classification system, license plate recognition, Department of Transportation checks, intelligent roadside operations computer and fully integrated dynamic message boards.
Shares of the company closed up 6.7% to $1.11 Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
