08:26 AM EST, 01/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Quarterhill ( QTRHF ) , a provider of electronic tolling and transportation enforcement solutions, on Friday said it won a contract to provide weigh-in-motion (WIM) technology to Brussels Mobility, which overseas traffic and roads safety, through a joint project with Belgium-based technology integrator Jacops.

The goal is to reduce the number of overloaded vehicles on the Brussels Region's roads.

Quarterhill ( QTRHF ) will supply the WIM subsystem, technical support, and training and will provide Jacops with the software for commercial vehicle monitoring and enforcement.

The weigh station will monitor four lanes of one-way traffic on the highway and record vehicle classification data. An overview camera provides images to help identify vehicles flagged by the system, while an automated number plate reader will photograph, and transmit the number plates of vehicles approaching the station, the statement noted.
