05:19 PM EST, 03/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- QuidelOrtho ( QDEL ) said Wednesday it secured Canadian regulatory approval for its Triage PLGF, or placental growth factor, test for laboratory use.

The company said the test intends to detect the presence of angiogenic imbalance resulting from abnormal placentation and poor blood flow in the placenta. This condition may lead to maternal and fetal complications of pregnancy, including pre-eclampsia, QuidelOrtho ( QDEL ) said.

Test results are delivered in about 15 minutes, the company said.
