Quikrete is in early-stage talks to acquire rival Summit

Materials ( SUM ), people familiar with the matter said on

Thursday.

Quikrete and Summit Materials ( SUM ) did not immediately respond to

requests for comment.

Bloomberg reported on the talks earlier on Thursday.
