Rain Enhancement Technologies Launches Second US Weather Modification Site in Utah
Nov 18, 2025 5:44 PM

02:48 PM EST, 11/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Rain Enhancement Technologies (RAIN) said Tuesday it began operating its second US weather installation in Utah after receiving a cloud seeding license and permit from the state.

The company said the Grand County site is Utah's first ionization-based program, and can boost precipitation by up to 18% over 360 square miles.

The project targets high elevations to strengthen snowpack that supplies most of Utah's water as reservoir levels fall faster than normal, the company said.

The company said it will keep operational records and provide federal and state reporting as required under the permit.
