RBC Capital Markets Expects 'Quiet' Q1 For Gold Producers

10:26 AM EDT, 03/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RBC Capital Markets said Thursday that it expects a quiet first quarter for gold companies despite higher gold prices.

RBC estimated that gold producers under its coverage will report 12% lower production quarter over quarter at 6% higher total cash costs.

RBC sees slight positive surprise potential for Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. ( AEM ) and slight risks for Newmont Corp. ( NEM ) .

In-line operating results but variance in EPS compared to estimates are expected for Kinross Gold Corp. ( KGC ) and Barrick Gold Corp. ( GOLD ) .

RBC noted the upcoming analyst days for some producers including Franco-Nevada Corp. ( FNV ) .
