10:19 AM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RBC Capital Markets noted Monday the Alberta operations of Cenovus (CVE.TO), Meg Energy (MEG.TO) and Strathcona (SCR.TO) as the region's in-situ bitumen production remained high in October.
RBC said Alberta's growing in-situ bitumen production underpins Canada's opportunity to become an energy superpower.
In-situ production of 1.91 million barrels per day year-to-date is up around 100,000 bbl/d compared to the year-ago period, RBC said.
At Cenovus' Sunrise operation, RBC said production increased to about 59,800 bbl/d in October, equating to a 56% sequential increase following planned maintenance activities in September.
RBC said Cenovus' recently acquired Christina Lake operation following its takeover of Meg Energy booked record high production volumes of 111,900 bbl/d in October.
At Strathcona's Orion operation, production rose for the third consecutive month, increasing 10% sequentially to 25,000 bbl/d, amid strong performance from the company's four new lower drainage wells brought on-stream in late September, RBC said.
