RBC Previews This Week's Retail Sales Data in Canada

09:23 AM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RBC noted that Canada will publish retail sales data for August on Friday, at 8:30 a.m. ET.

The bank looks for Canadian August retail sales to show a 0.5% month-over-month increase from July, in line with Statistics Canada's advance estimate a month ago and consistent with industry reports that vehicle sales rose.

However, RBC's tracking of card transactions is pointing to a pullback in September.
