Redmi chief executive officer (CEO) Lu Weibing announced that the company sold ten lakh units of Redmi Note 7 within three weeks of its launch, reported Gadgets 360.
As per the report, the announcement was made by the CEO through a post on Weibo. In the post, the CEO claimed that Redmi Note 7, the first smartphone under the new Redmi by Xiaomi brand, managed to sell 1 million units in China.
The development comes after the model was launched exclusively in China last month. While the company had earlier claimed that it will cross the ten lakh mark in January itself, the report indicated that it took another couple of weeks to achieve the numbers.
The development is also significant as the model is expected to arrive in the Indian market pretty soon. As per the report, Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain, late last month teased the launch of the Redmi Note 7 in India. Though no timeline has been provided about the launch, Jain, the report said believed that it will be a game changer.
