Reliance Jio Fiber broadband to roll out today
Sep 4, 2019 10:05 AM

Reliance's next big disruptor Jio Fiber broadband is set to be rolled out today. The optical fiber-based broadband service will offer plans starting at Rs 700 and will go up to Rs 10,000. This high-speed broadband service has been under beta testing for a year and already received over fifteen million registrations.

The base plan will have a speed of 100 mbps but the speed goes up to 1 gbps for higher-priced plans though the exact details of the tariffs are yet awaited. There is also this refundable security deposit of Rs 2,500, which needs to be paid upfront.

All the existing Jio Fiber users and the new fiber users would get a fixed line service, called Jio HomePhone, for international calling. This will provide free voice calls to all Indian operators and even for international calling, its tariff will be the lowest in the market. The set top box will offer HD entertainment, including gaming.

Disclaimer:

RIL, the promoter of Reliance Jio, also controls Network18, the parent company of CNBCTV18.com.
