03:10 PM EDT, 05/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RE/MAX Holdings ( RMAX ) and Anywhere Real Estate ( HOUS ) received final court approval to resolve claims in antitrust lawsuits, according to separate statements on Thursday.

Anywhere agreed to pay $83.5 million and RE/MAX ( RMAX ) committed $55 million to settle class action claims brought by home sellers that accused the National Association of Realtors as well as some brokerage companies of unlawfully inflating the commissions they pay to agents for buyers.

RE/MAX ( RMAX ) and Anywhere had announced the settlements in October.

Both companies said the settlement was not an admission of liability.
