Republic Services Plans Advanced Recycling Center in Missouri
May 26, 2025 4:19 AM

11:28 AM EDT, 05/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Republic Services ( RSG ) said Thursday that it plans to build a 105,000-square-foot recycling center in Bridgeton, Missouri, to serve the Greater St. Louis area.

Financial details weren't provided.

The facility is expected to open in mid-2027 and will process up to 45 tons of recyclables per hour. It will feature at least 10 optical sorters, artificial intelligence systems, and size-based screening to improve recycling and reduce contamination, the company said.

Construction, set to begin in early 2026 pending permits, is expected to create up to 200 full-time jobs, with 60 permanent positions once the site is operational, the company added.
