earnings, as low grain prices reduce costs for animal feed.

Prices for corn and soy futures have fallen near four-year lows

due to ample supplies, making to less expensive for Tyson to

fatten chickens for meat. The company's poultry business is also

benefiting after Tyson closed and sold processing plants. Last

month it sold a Georgia poultry complex to House of Raeford

Farms. Tyson continued to grapple with tight US cattle supplies

that hurt its beef business. Q3 earnings will be the first since

finance chief, John R. Tyson, was suspended after arrest for

intoxicated driving in June. Results due at 630 am CT and

conference call at 8 am CT.
