09:13 AM EDT, 10/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ribbon Communications ( RBBN ) said Friday it has completed a deployment of a long haul dense wave division multiplexing for Indian telecom firm Bharti Airtel.

Airtel Chief Technology Officer Randeep Sekhon said the company can now meet the increasing demand for 5G and high-speed connectivity through the integration of Ribbon's optical transport technologies.

Airtel effectively met its growing bandwidth requirements as the deployment of Ribbon's Apollo 9600 programmable and open optical transport platforms gave Airtel 51.2 Tbps of long haul network capacity, Ribbon said.
